Our Seed Club: Due to ridiculous seed laws here in the UK, many of our fantastic vegetable seeds cannot in theory be supplied to the public, because they are not on the UK National List of permitted vegetable varieties1 But we do supply them to members of our seed club.
Growing tomatoes outdoors is fun and very rewarding but not all varieties or types, in terms of growth habit, are suitable. So, what are the best tomatoes to grow outdoors in the UK? It’s impossible to say what are the best heirloom tomatoes, it all depends on your personal taste and what appeals to you and your family. Try them and see. The second tomato seed category we offer is cordon tomatoes (also known as indeterminate or vine tomatoes). The side shoots on these tomatoes should be pinched out as they grow, to channel the plant's energies into producing an abundance of juicy, healthy fruits. Because all are open-pollinated (non-hybrid), if you wish you can even save your own vegetable seed
It can be hard for you to determine how much space to grow tomatoes. Several varieties of tomato varieties are available at all sizes in gardens and they may be tumbling cherries in window boxes or neat rows on the lot. What are the spacings for tomatoes? There must also be a consideration factor. Having a sunny south facing on a wall or fence would be a much better solution for greenhouses.
