About this deal

The eSATA connector is a more robust SATA connector, intended for connection to external hard drives and SSDs. eSATA's transfer rate (up to 6Gbit/s) is similar to that of USB3.0 (up to 5Gbit/s) and USB3.1 (up to 10Gbit/s). A device connected by eSATA appears as an ordinary SATA device, giving both full performance and full compatibility associated with internal drives.

Universal Charging Solution". GSMA. 17 February 2009. Archived from the original on 30 November 2011 . Retrieved 12 December 2011. All USB-C cables must be able to carry a minimum of 3A current (at 5 V, for 15 W) but some can carry 5A current (at 20 V, for 100 W). [10] USB-C to USB-C cables supporting 5 A current must contain e-marker chips (also marketed as E-Mark chips) programmed to identify the cable and its current capabilities. USB charging ports should be clearly marked with power capability. [11] Both devices must support the same protocols for protocol tunneling to occur. The devices also need Thunderbolt 3 support for data transfer via USB-C. Charging PowerFull-featured USB-C cables that implement USB3.1 Gen2 can provide 10 Gbit/s (full duplex) signalling rate. They are marked with a SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps (previously marketed as SuperSpeed+) logo. There are also cables which can support only USB2.0 with a nominal data rate of 480 Mbit/s (with maximal effective data rate of ~40MB/s). The USB Implementers Forum certifies valid cables so they can be marked accordingly and users can distinguish them from non-compliant products. [12] Hosts and peripheral devices [ edit ] USB 4 supports multiple data and display protocols, including Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort 2.0, and USB 3.2, which means it can handle more devices and functions concurrently than USB-C. Thunderbolt3 is twice as fast and uses reversible USB-C". Archived from the original on 3 June 2015 . Retrieved 2 June 2015. USB-C is so much better than the ports that came before. One of the biggest benefits is simple: it’s reversible. It doesn’t matter which way you plug in your USB-C cable to your device’s port, as either orientation will work. Gone are the days of fumbling with your USB cable to plug it in correctly, so long as you’re using USB-C, anyway.

USB Device Class Specifications". www.usb.org. Archived from the original on 13 August 2014 . Retrieved 4 May 2018. Active cables and adapters contain powered electronics to allow for longer cables or to perform protocol conversion. The adapters for video Alternate Modes may allow conversion from native video stream to other video interface standards (e.g., DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA or DVI). The USB standard also provides multiple benefits for hardware manufacturers and software developers, specifically in the relative ease of implementation:
