The plot is typical and predictable-- they both feel the the spark, but each is unavailable at different times. And Now You’re Back features a cast of colourful, well-rounded characters with believable backstories that add depth to the narrative.

Didi and Shay were friends who went on one last group trip abroad before they all went their separate ways for uni, etc. Her style isn't flashy: there is no coy "meet-cute", no extraneous and unnecessary detailed description of what people are wearing or eating, it doesn't rely on trite and banal "witty" banter, she doesn't beat the reader over the head with word-count-increasing extraneous repetition and she isn't trying to impress me with arcane "literary" vocabulary and precious prose, and finally she doesn't fill the story with steamy sex scenes that I usually skip over because they are often cliché. I really liked this because it added layers to the story and we got to learn a bit more about each character and how everyone is connected. One thing that I look forward to every January is a new, cosy, heart-warming read from Mansell and I was eager to get stuck into this latest offering and be swept away into a world of romance.
